Ok plot thickens........
just found Flora, re-married Edward Broadhurst in 1899, I see a Thomas Broadhurst who would be about the right age, guess Edward must have adopted him, but where are the rest? Alexander was a witness at a marriage in 1910. Hugh cant find him, and There is a Joseph Broadhurst, could have been John Joseph, using Joseph not John, who I guess could have been adopted too. Christina cant find her either,
Interestingly there is a Flora McMemary, boarder living with them.
Off to bed now, I know what I'll be dreaming of.....;0) Karen

Hi Karen
Have you been confining your search for the children to Glasgow or Lanarkshire
If yes ! Try widening it to include Renfrewshire.
It is possible that the children would have been sent out of the county altogether to the Children's Homes for Scotland AKA Quarriers Homes near Bridge of Weir.
That was quite a common occurance then that an entire family were sent to the Homes as no child in need would be refused. When they ran out od space they simply built another house.
If they were sent there it is possible that some, if not all of the children could have ended up in Canada. They might not show up on a pasenger list as some groups were simply designated the 'Quarriers' or 'Homes children'.
Happy hunting

I found a marriage for Christina in 1899 in Craignuek, Dalziel parish to Peter Fairley. The parents are correct and the marriage was witnessed by Hugh McMenemy.
In 1901 Christina is in Greenyards, Bannockburn with husband Peter a hewer and daughter Flora M, age 5 months, born Dalziel.
Hopefully this will help you trace what happened to her.
Regards
Tom
