To check for a (pre-1984) divorce on the online NAS catalogue try:
http://www.dswebhosting.info/NAS/dserve ... Search.tcl
AnyText - put in the two surnames e.g. Brown Smith
RefNo - put CS*
Word options
Phrase
And - click this one
Click the Search button.
If you wanted to see the document at NAS you would have to order it using the ref number and title of the record (e.g. CS251/1943/9267 John Smith v Janet Brown or Smith: Divorce [this is a made up one!]) 48hrs in advance as most (all?) are held off site (as I discovered on Thursday...
).
