I have found her on Ancestry (Why not on SP?) and she is not the Margaret I am looking for; not only her age but my Margaret was born in Galston.

Your help is appreciated.

I laughed when I read newspaper report. Fortunately Peter Donachie and Margaret Biggins were married in 1876 and had a son in 1979. So I don't think it is the Margaret I am looking for.

Thanks anyway.
Hugo - just wanted to check - on Margaret's marriage entry to Peter does she give her parents as John Biggins and Mary McCabe?

Regards,
Annette

Yes, her parents indeed were John Biggins and Mary McCabe.

Garlieston could be Galston, with a bit of imagination. However, there is a Garlieston down Dumfries way!

On the other hand, her proximity to West Russell Street is a telling observation.

I think I will provisionally accept her, with a note to that effect, untill a more convincing candidate appears.

My search techniques are obviously not as good as they could be.

I do appreciate what you have done.
