My great grandmother, Margaret Park, b1855, Renfrew married Thomas McAulay 1874. They had 2 children, Alexnder & Mary. Thomas died in 1882. All is fine to this point. In 1887 Mary married John McCall in Renfrew. They had four children: Margaret b 1887 d 1946, John b 1890 d 1891, Agnes b 1892 d 1893 and Robina (twin to Agnes)
I have been unable to find Margaret b 1855 death. She was alive when Husband John died in 1910, she was on the 1891 census age 36 and 46 on the 1901 census. Cannot find her death.
Daughter Robina was born 1892. On 1901 census she was age 8. She was witness to her sisters marriage 1920.
I have not been able to find anything more on Robina. Is there another first name (shorten name) she could have went by? Some of the family records show McCall, or McAll. Any ideas where I could look or where I have missed would be appreciated.

Hi Marva
A minor spelling variation involved, - try searching on M*c*y as Margaret's surname, using the female death index cross-check together with PARK.
As tradition demanded, the informant was the eldest son Alexander.
Just to confuse matters, in between the death of Thomas and her own death, Margaret had remarried !, - whcih could have contributed to the surname used by Robina ......... and he got the given name of his grandfather wrong ...........

Hi David
Still no luck. I know she died between 1910 (alive when secoond husband, John McCall died) and deceased at daughter Margarets marriage (1920) Robina's middle name, Grieve, as I can trace back belongs to Margaret's older brother, James married a Christina Grieve.

Hi David
Sorry, but she is sure hiding from me. I have tried Margaret McColl, Maggie McColl, and Meg McColl. Tried other names: Park, McAulay, Park alone and McAulay alone and with no other names. Female, Year 1911-1911. With birth year of 1855 and without it. Tried Renfrew alone and Renfrew, Renfrew and also all districts. She just doesn't seem to come out of the woodwork for me.

I just tried what David said - Margaret MCCOLL/PARK Year of death 1911 to 1911 and I got one hit.
It also works with McAuley.

David,
You have me on a roll now that I have learned how to use the wild card. I not only found Martha's death, I have now found the long lost daughter, Joanna (She was under Joan). Found her birth and also her marriage. Now I must go through all my paper work and do this system and see if I can find some others that I thought were hiding from me.
Thanks again,
Marrva
