Hi Annette...Jean might be confused with her Sneddon's but I'm probably more confused with all my Love's.

I'll have to keep a close eye on this one and check it out when I get back tonight and see where it takes me!

Hi Annette,

For a minute I thought we had a match for Henry Love and Margaret Rankin when I pulled up their MC but, Henry's Parents were David Love and Helen Sharp. I have a David married to an Isabel Sharp, but wrong generation.

I still have a lot of work to do on these Love's, so I'll keep your friend's information handy...lots of coincidences between these families.

Re your friend and re her James b 1843 in Old Monkland who married Barbara Adamson b 1849.

By any chance are her James's parents John Sneddon and Agnes McVicar?

I have a James born c.1843 in Old Monkland with these parents!

Hi Jean,

Yes his parents were John Sneddon and Agnes McVicar.

I don't have any info on the rest of their children - I only did the direct line of my friend's mother -but James married Barbara Adamson and they had (amongst others) John born 1873.

John married Margaret White Love in 1898 at Miller St Motherwell and their daughter Barbara, who was my friend's gran, married William Hunter in 1924. If you want the certs PM me your email address and I'll send them to you.

Hi Jean and Annette,

I just woke up, so not quite with it yet, but the coincidences with who these Snedden's/Love's married, and my lot, is uncanny.

I found one of my David Love's and his family on 'Find A Grave' buried in Utah. This one, after having two wives who died, went on to marry a Margaret Hunter (but in Missouri) and wrong generation.

I'll need to put these families on paper to see where I'm going and I'll be keeping a close eye on this thread.

I've just downloaded a d.c. for Janet Gillon m.s. Sneddon She died 9 Jan 1893 in Armadale, West Lothian, aged 75. Parents James Sneddon and Agnes LOVE.

She's not one of mine, well not at the moment, anyway

Is she one of yours?

These Snedden's and Love's keeping popping up, don't they.

I haven't come across an Agnes Love, yet, but I still have a lot of families to get in order so will keep this one in mind.

I do have an Agness Snedden Love. I just haven't entered her into my database yet.

Well, I did say I had a lot of work to do on them.

Hi again Jean,
I just pulled the DC for my Agnes Love but she married an Anderson and died in Coatbridge....at least, now I have another family to look for...thanks for the push.

I still have lots of other 'Love's' to get through though, so you never know what will pop up.
