27 Summerfield Street, Glasgow.....
Can anyone tell me if this address was for a poor house?

Not sure what time period you're looking at, but according to the entry in the 1913 valuation rolls it looks like a tenement block.

Looking at the Poorhouse link in "Sources" i didnt see that address but
"google" bought back this though....i dont know if its the same one ?

For 1913 strangely enough
It's the address on the death cert for Sarah Hislop (Hyslop, 44).
One of her daughters was in the City Poorhouse 1901 - Kate (11), I just wondered, as all the family seemed to be farmed out.
Her death cert states her a widow, but I can't find Thomas' death cert, or her son James' birth cert either.
It's James who witnessed her death cert, he would have been about 19 at the time.
Clutching at straws here.

Hi, Miss Poohs. That address blasted out at me right away. My paternal Grandad was born at 8 Summerfield Street in 1882.
