Hi to all at TS,
I wonder if anyone who has a membership with Ancestry can have a look for a marriage for me.
I am looking for the first names of Taylor (male) and Goodfellow (female). The area would be Southampton and date probably between 1930 - 1945.
This is the most obvious when i do the free search but it doesn't give any dates
Arthur E Taylor Goodfellow info year Southampton Hampshire
Thanks,
Ailsa

Re: Marriage Cerificate help
Hi Sandy,
Thanks for that - I am sure that is the marriage as it fits in to the birth of the first child in 1936. Don't want to say much more about them as there may be living relatives! but thanks again.

Hello Ailsa,
You can get this sort of information from FreeBMD as well. They are going great guns and are heading into the 1950s for Bs, Ms & Ds. You can do a sort of parent search there as well and using those surnames in Southampton there’s a J in 34, a G in 36, an F in 38, and a P in 41. http://freebmd.rootsweb.com/cgi/search.pl
All the best,
Alan

Re: Marriage Cerificate help
Thanks for that Alan, I do usually dip in and out of FreeBMD but have not usually had much luck with Scottish relatives.
I had help with a member of TS and found F,P and G but not J - thanks for that.
Hard bit now is trying to find any of them - they were step children of my grandfather - he went to the 2nd World War and basically never came back to his (my) family. It would have been nice to find out something about his life in Southampton.
I am trying BT.com but nowadays so many people go ex- directory.
Regards

Agreed re ex-directory, but far from as many people, as yet, opt not to be included in the published versions of the Voters Rolls.crayspond wrote:.....much snipped...............

Re: Marriage Cerificate help
Hi mb,
Thanks for the tip about the electoral rolls - I am not really comfortable about using them to be honest.
I am going to write to the address on the next of kin on the death cert just on the off chance someone might still live there.
Also as it's his adopted 2nd family they might not even want to know me!!
Regards
